I bought my mom two strawberry plants to use as a ground cover next to
the house. Now I'm concerned that it will attract snakes (they live in
an older residential neighborhood). Pros or cons anyone? I have a
garden that I can put them in alternatively, but I thought right up
against the house would be kinda pretty.

Thanks
Pat

Wild strawberries began growing as groundcover next to my house last spring. They came back thicker than ever this
year. I haven't seen a snake yet, and I live about 200 feet from a river. BTW, I love popping a handful of those
little berries into my mouth.

Hi Brad, thanks for the input. BTW, is what you are growing what we
referred to as "snake berries"?

I have no idea. Keep in mind that I didn't plant anything, they just showed up one spring. They do seem to enjoy the
shade.
