I love to look at wild chicory flowers growing along
roadsides at this time of year. For several years now
I've tried to transplant them in various places around
my property, without success. Anyone have any ideas?

Chicory has a tap root. Most tap root plants don't like
to be dug up. The best bet is to find some seeds, or
collect some. You might want to try root cuttings.
Keep in mind that chicory flowers are very short-lived,
usually dying by noon of the day they open. They are nice
though, and we see them here in Idaho too. One of the
bluest things going.

Seeds work better than transplants for chicory. Plant as soon
as the seeds are ripe.
