Do you know if ligularia can be used as a pond marginal instead of a bog
plant?
We're in the middle of setting up our first pond, and are now in the
populating-it-with-plants stage. At a recent plant sale we bought a
nice ligularia stenocephala ("The Rocket") that grows to 80" and we're
looking for a good place to put it. We have a nice spot for it on one
marginal shelf, and our bog is getting a bit full for such a big plant.
All the books I have on it say it's a bog plant, but I know that some
bog plants can be used as marginals, in water, with their crowns
underneath......and some bog plants really should be in boggy soil and
not in the water.
Any experience using ligularia in the water as a marginal?
Thanks!

p.s., I've posted this on rec.ponds also, but so far no one knows!
