It is nice and thick and green, but I'm wondering why all the seeds.
Anyone know if this is normal, or something related to the time of year,
the amount of rainfall (we've had quite a bit lately), or something I
may be doing?
Thanks.

I think it does it every year (seasonal=spring-ish). Mine is doing
it right now also, (Central Fla, east coast). I really noticed
it last year around this time, because I was putting in a sprinkler
system and went a few weeks without mowing. The grass all sprouted
seed heads. After I finished with the sprinkler system we had
record amounts of rain (go figure). So far this year we have been
hotter than usual but no excesive rain, so maybe its tempurature
driven.
Mike..
That's strange. I've never heard of St. Augustine going to seed (but
that's not saying much). Perhaps it's crabgrass?
As a native Floridian, St Augustine blooming and going to seed is not
unusual. I think it IS unusual for new grass to come from this seed, but
I've heard that the Univ. of Fla is working on starting S A lawns from seed.
