I was wondering what ph level of the soil that tomatoe plants
need. I have red and yellow tomatoe plants. Any info would be
appreciated.

Thanks, Jim Canning cann...@bluemarble.net

tomatoes grow best in a pH range of 5.5-7.5

Much of the concern about pH levels and trying to change them is being
shown to be unnecessary, and indicates a "chemistry" approach to growing.
If you work good compost into the soil and avoid the synthetic "miracle"
fertilizers, the pH will take care of itself. A bigger concern should be
the amount of salt that comes from chemical fertilizers and even in the
water in some parts of the country. See our Web page at
<http://www2.bio-organics.com/bio/> for an example of an all-organic
fertilizer and mycorrhizae that will make tomatoes perform at peak levels
in all types of soil. Don Chapman

The correct pH is about 6.4 or slightly acid. For good tasting fruit
make sure there is plenty of potassium and calcium present.
