Well, I've brushed my dog, and then put the tufts of doghair around
.. no rabbit damage. Have to repeat after it rains, fortuntely,
she's a hairy dog at this time of year. (yellow lab) ... I'm trying
"Ropel" right now as an experiment ... I think I can still taste it
.. I'll be more careful next time.
I've sprayed soapy water on plants to wash off insects -- haven't heard that
it repels rabbits.
Predator urine sprinkled around the borders helps repel rabbits -- you can buy
bottled fox & coyote urine, or you can supply your own. Bloodmeal also seems
to help some, and I've noticed that when I border my flowers with green onions
that the bunnies seem to stay away. Best of all is probably a fence or a
vigilant dog (but then you have to protect the garden from the dog, who will
want to dig frantically if you've used bloodmeal!)

These (and other materials) are more in the nature of "discouragement"
rather than strict repellants. Hungry animals have to eat, and if they're
hungry enough they will overcome their distaste for these materials.
Also, some plants are so attractive as food items that almost nothing you
can spray or spread is going to be very effective.
If you have other food plants for the rabbits , and the plants you are
protecting are not exceptionally choice, the discouraging materials just
might keep them away for a while.
Of course, you could keep a dog around to chase the rabbits away, but the
dog itself may dig up or damage the plant it is "protecting".
Bottom line , the only sure-fire rabbit repellent is a well built wire
fence.
