Tulips don't bloom well after the first year. They conitnue to bloom less
and less each year.

Ours did the same. I think it was the weight of late snows.

I have tulips that have been blooming in the same spot for years. There
shouldn't be that dramatic of a change in the second year. Sounds like a
virus or something.

I don't know where in zone 5 you are, but around here (Ann Arbor, MI)
tulip stems bent in some odd shapes when we had a hard freeze after the
flowers were open. The morning after, all of the tulips were hanging
their heads, but after it warmed up most of them perked up again, but
some didn't make it all the way back. Did you have a similar freeze?
