I have a new garden spot with a raised bed that is infested with pill
bugs that are damaging young plants. The pests are living in the
concrete blocks that make up the bedframe. I'm looking for an organic
solution other that hunting at night with a flashlight.

thanks in advance :o)

Pill bugs do not harm plants...they are closely related to sea crabs, adn
seek moisture...you'll usually find them living in holes that OTHER bugs
cause because it is nice and damp in there...pills bigs actually help
compost...check a bit closer before you kill the pill bugs ( I am guessing
you mean the gray rolly polly bugs, or "volkswagon" bugs, as my kids call
them )...good luck

Pillbugs eat strawberries! I've caught many over the years inside the
berry where they had made it about half way through. Also other family
members have found them eating through different roots and bulbs.

I have also seen pill bugs & sow bugs eating pansie and viola flowers.
Sometimes they are tucked into the leaves of my artichokes along with
earwigs. I wonder what they are doing there???? They are beneficial as
well. You need to decide if you should grow what they like to eat or try
to control them. I don't think you will make much of a dent using organic
methods. I think about the only thing you can do is place boards on the
ground and every morning collect the boards and dump the contents in
boiling hot water.
