Organic Insecticide for Tomatoes??

This question is somewhat premature, in that I don't know yet what insect
I'm talking about, but my daughter (lives upstate and I haven't seen her
tomatoes) complains that some insect is "eating little holes" in her
tomato leaves and is asking what she should do. Told her that:
1) I've been raising tomatoes each year for the last 25 and here in
this desert climate (Mojave) the ONLY insect that I've ever seen on
my tomatoes has been the well-known tomato worm and he doesn't eat
little holes, he eats leaves!!...but then he's easy to find and get
get rid of without insecticides,
2) I'm not in favor of chemicals on any food plants,
3) try to locate and identify the little devils, if possible,
4) Try some insecticidal soap....it seems to stop a variety of
insects,
5) and most importantly, that I'd ask you folks:
a) what other kind of insects typically bother tomatoes and
eat little holes in the leaves,
b) what are some recommended organic insecticide treatments
for food plants??
