My petunia blossoms are coming in full of holes and jaggies. Sometimes
there is slime on them, most often not. My neighbor says its slugs
and she caught some in her garden with beer. I put out beer and didnt'
catch a thing.

All my plants are in pots, not the ground. I bought slug bait but am not
sure how much to use per pot, or even if slugs are my problem. Are
there any other common pests that find petunias delicious and how could I
detect them since they must steal in and out during the night.

Thanks!

Last time I tried growing petunias, it was the slugs that totally
demolished them, leaves and all (but then mine weren't in containers).
