I wanted to post this image of a rose. I would like to meet rose
enthusiasts. This painting is more detailed than anything you are
likely to ever see. Hope you enjoy it! URL below.

Guido,

I work at a Florist and clean and prepare the roses when they come in.
This one is called "Laguna" by our wholesaler, but there are other
names for it. That particular rose was grown in San Diego.

Thank you chris.

I am a reasonable newbe here, and in addition located in Europe (many
differences in namegiving on both sides of the pond)), so the name does
not sound familiar.
I know there is loads of roses for cutting that make it never to the
garden. would be interested to know more about them.

To Guido,

The roses we get never have the botanical name. It's always something
catchy, like "Santa Fe" or "Confetti". There are so many different
kinds that are for cutting. The main red rose we get is "Madame
Delbard" or another called "Classy". It's the colored roses that seem
to always be called one name one day and then another name the next day!
