A friend of mine has a wife who loves tomatoes. Unfortunately, she has
diveticulitus. Because of the seeds, she can not eat tomatoes.
Is there a seedless variety?

If you use the blossom set hormone spray the tomatoes are seedless? It
has been a long time since I used it...maybe fewer seeds.

I don't know that anyone has yet developed a seedless tomato. As Tom said,
Blossom Set will give you a few seedless tomatoes in the crown when used when
temperatures are too low for normal set. These will range from no seeds to
immature seeds, As soon the temps warm so the tomato can pollinate, seeds will
develop.

Varieties like Roma have very distinct seed sections which are easily separable
from the meat. Since tomato seeds are relatively large, careful inspection of
(de)seeded tomatoes should be adequate.

Hi,
Eating seeds has nothing to do with diverticulosis, it is caused by not
eating enough fiber. Even the more serious diverticulitsis is a
bacterial problem and not caused by seed eating.
http://www.niddk.nih.gov/health/digest/pubs/divert/divert.htm says
"Until recently, many doctors suggested avoiding foods with small seeds
such as tomatoes or strawberries because they believed
that particles could lodge in the diverticula and cause inflammation.
However, this is now a
controversial point and no evidence supports this recommendation."

Yes, there is a seedless tomato! However, I cannot tell you where to get
them now. My aunt in the Ozark Mountains had some one time and I grew some.
However, that was years ago and I no longer know where to get them.
Sorry.
