Hello,

I was wondering if deer have eaten or prefer anyones
English/Persian/Carpathian walnut trees. I need to know whether I
should protect them a bit more than just some plastic netting and
chicken wire. Thanks very much,

Dan

They don't seem to eat Black Walnut trees, but who knows they will eat most
anything.

I have 2 English walnuts and have never gotten a nut! The "rats with
holves" don't climb trees but the "tree rats" do.
Good luck.

I dont mind the tree rats, I just give them a recommended lifetime
allowance of BB lead. Its the 400 lb "walking mouths" that bother me
the most.

Thanks,

Deer will eat small walnut seedlings and sprouts from stumps. I see
evidence of this all the time on my property. They seem to lose
interest once the plants become woody.
