They seem to have a great emphasis on Genesis now. For the past two
issues they have had a 2 page spread covering the latest Genesis/ Mega
Drive releases.
Lots of pictures of new games from the winter CES. Among NES releases there
was GUNNAC, the sequel to Zanac , also programmed by Compile. Another
great sequel was Godzilla 2.
There were a lot of Genesis games shown, but too many of them were games
that are translated from Amiga or IBM, mostly by Electronic Arts. I don't
like this trend myself. I wish they'd invest some time and money to make
more really truly original games like Madden football instead of being
cheap and lazy and just porting everything from computer games. Among these
'ports' are Dark Castle, M1 Abrams tank, 688 Attack Sub, Onslaught, Might
and Magic 2, James Pond, Kings Bounty, PGA Tour Golf, Star Control, Hardball,
Onslaught.... None of them looked particularly good or exciting.
Then there were the great games from coming from Japan...Raiden Trad, Alien
Storm, Spiderman, Sonic the Hedgehog, Elemental Master.... the graphics
of Alien Storm, Spiderman and especially Sonic the Hedgehog looked incredible.
Kind of weird but they only showed 3 TG-16 games from CES... Dead Moon, Yo
Bro, and Wanderer's from Y's..... I don't understand it... there are so
many PC-Engine games available in Japan... why are they so slow in brining
them to the US....
