To Mike and James:

We WANT to move Keen to the Lynx! I have contacted Atari's
development centre in Chicago and I sent them some $$$ and a signed
non-disclosure (which they faxed me) for details about the development
kit and publishing. I even sent then a copy of all of our current
games and a sneak-preview copy of the technology being used in an
upcoming game (which would also make a great Lynx title, maybe even
better than Keen!).

But, the sad news is that Atari is very slow to respond. They did fax
me the non-disclosure but I havn't heard back from them regarding the
status of the information I requested. I am very surprised by the lack
of a reply, I would think Atari would jump at the chance of having a
game like ours on their box.

M(> EH> Well, it wouldn't be quite that simple. I think there are a few
M(> EH> differences between the way you do graphics with an EGA card and
M(> EH> on the Lynx :-)

Actually, it would be a lot easier to write a Keen game on the Lynx
than it was on the PC... A LOT EASIER! Graphically speaking, we've
already got the background and sprites in a format that is
transportable to the Amiga. We've also tested the Keen game at the
reduced resolution (160x102) of the Lynx and it looks surprisingly
nice!

M(> > The Commander Keen series would be excellent on the Lynx. Somebody write
M(> >APOGEE!
M(>
M(> EH> Didn't you read the post that started this? Apogee did *not*
M(> EH> write the Commander Keen series, they are simply marketing and
M(> EH> distributing them for another company.

Yes, writing Apogee would have no response. They have nothing to do
with development of Commander Keen games other than pushing us to
crank them out faster! <g>. Besides, if you're going to write anyone,
write this guy (he's V.P. at Atari):

Write (today if you want!), don't call. He's very busy and if he gets
a barrage of telephone call he's likely to be turned off. Of course,
you could always send him a FAX !!!

Please send me a copy of the letter to the following address:
