To those of you who have been asking about what games are available for
the Sega CD system, and when new ones might be released, here is some
information I picked up last night.
The Electronics Boutique January catalog came in the mail yesterday. In
it were ads for CDs of Batman ($49.99) and Willy Beamish ($59.99), and
the disclaimer line in fine print says that new games are all expected
to be in stores at the time of publication. So I ran out to the store,
and, WOW, they don't have it. The flunkee working there said maybe
later in the week, when their shipment comes in. I am not aware that
other places have or have had these games. I checked KayBee Toys and
Babbages - no go yet.
Anyway, games available in Cleveand, Ohio (off the top of my head...)
Night Trap
Sewer Shark
Cobra Command (I think that's the name - helicopter sim)
Black Hole Assault
Wonder Dog
Wolfchild - New from JVC - platform game I think
INXS video game
Kris Kross video game
Hook
Chuck Rock (on sale at Babbages for $44.99)
That game that lets you scribble on the TV
I think that's everything. Also coming - Star Trek TNG, Terminator 2,
and a handful of RPGs (finally...) that look like they have some
promise.
Does it seem to anyone that companies are making such an effort to put
animated sequences as intros, etc. that they are forgetting how much
storage they have that game code could be put into.
