Street Fighter II: This game was a literal carbon copy of the coin
op.
There was no flicker/slowdown at all, and the complex combos you use
in
the arcade work perfectly on the SNES control pad. Speaking of
control,
you could alter the buttons functions to your specifications, and
people
who thought they just COULDN'T do with the pad, you'll be surprised.
Some backgrounds animate and some do not (Honda's) and they haven't
skimped on the colors either. The characters were a teensy bit
smaller
than in the arcade version, but nothing major at all. The animation w
s flawless also. The speech was a bit toned down, but again,
faithfully
reproduced. You could actually hear the music in this one, unlike the
arcade! My advice, buy this game the day it comes out.
Super Soccer Champ: A pretty decent soccer game which makes good use
of
scaling, however this becomes boring and tiresome after a while. The
characters animate pretty well, the goalies in particular. The color
scheme was standard of all soccer games, green and white. All in all,
a
fairly decent game, better than that piece of crap out right now, but
I
don't think it's going to be able to compete with Super Goal!
Faceball 2000: Ugh.. What can I say.. This game SUCKED! It had like
three colors, and the only redeeming thing about it was that you
could
play two players, but even this feature gets tiresome. Easily the
worst
game of the tour.
TMNT 4 - Turtles in Time: Another good game. Looks just like the
arcade
and plays like it too. Altough I thought the graphics could have been
improved, they looked like the arcade so I can't complain. The music
was
really good..
Contra III - The Alien Wars: I LOVED this game! Although it suffered
from a hint of flicker and some slowdown, it was still INTENSE! There
were many different power ups, 2 player action, and use of scaling in
numerous instances, particularly when this huge bomber swoops down on
the screen and drops a napalm bomb! Another great show of the scaling
and rotation power of the SNES is on the boss of the third? level, a
huge ....thing swirls all around you while you shoot at it and run
for
your life.. Another must buy!
Zelda 3 - Link to the Past: Although I didn't get a chance to play
this
one (nor did I really want to, who wants to play an RPG when SF2 is
in
the house) the graphics I saw were quite impressive and Link looks
better than ever. The animation was particularly well done too.
Available now..
That's all the pre-release stuff I played, all the rest were just
stuff
we've all heard about before, the Superscope 6, F-Zero, Castlevania
4,
Super WWF, etc.. Hope ya enjoyed this post......

This is a (either an authorized or unauthorized) version of
"Kill A Happy Face" which originated on the Atari ST (also
called "Midi-Maze." You could have something like 16 people
networked together, all roaming around and blasting each
other. This game was designed for multi-person play, so
don't judge the game by its solo variant. Two people is
still too few, IMO.
