Golden Axe Announced for Next-Gen
New installment in the revered hack-n-slash franchise.

Sega announced today the return of Golden Axe, the fan favorite
hack-n-slash adventure game first made popular in arcades in 1989.
Slated to hit PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2007, the Golden Axe next-gen project
comes from Secret Level, a developer Sega recently acquired.
While next to no details have been revealed about the next-gen
incarnation of Golden Axe, a teaser trailer for the game will be shown
at the E3 show tomorrow. So stay tuned for that.
"Golden Axe is one of our most treasured brands and is a complete
re-imagining of the story that will take gamers on an unforgettable
journey," said Scott Steinberg, vice president of marketing at Sega of
America. "The vision we have for the remake of Golden Axe is nothing
short of remarkable and it can only be realized on the PS3 and Xbox
360."

long-anticipated return of Golden Axe™, a fan favorite since its

Sega today announced that one of their favorite franchises of old will
be making a return on next generation consoles. Originally released in
1989, Golden Axe will be making its way to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox
360 and is the first game being developed by Sega's recent acquisition,
Secret Level.
Golden Axe is an action RPG where players take on the roles of a small
band of Riders. Your goal is to recruit allies, expose the enemy, and
prevent the annihilation of your breed. Yet again, players will be
playing both on foot and on beast mounts.

.....it would be NICE if Sega included, with the new game, the original
ARCADE Golden Axe, instead of just packing in the Genesis version
AGAIN. Also, for the first time at home, please have
Golden Axe: The Revenge Of Death Adder included as well.............
heh, Sega Ages: Golden Axe, the 3D-remake for PS2, sucked so incredibly
badly, SEGA has, uh, "a lot" to make up for, to repair this
once-awesome franchise.
