NFL2K strategies?

Hi,

I've been playing NFL2K for a little while now (I've played about 8
games against the CPU, and maybe 10 against my roomate). But I feel like
I haven't mastered the secrets of the game yet; I'm not much of a
football expert :). So what I'm looking for is something that would help
me with the strategic aspect, before I move on to the All-Pro difficulty
level (and the tips would be helpful for kicking my roomate's sorry
butt).

Right now, I'm relying solely on the strength of my offense. But my
defensive play is really lacking: I need some tips on the advantages of
the different formations (4-3, 3-4, dime, nickel), and individual plays.
