I have a request for Vic Ireland. And that is Langrisser 3, I just saw
this game in the 2/23 issue of Sega Saturn Magazine and I must say the
character designs look awesome, and make me sad when I remember nobody
ever released part two in the U.S. I have part one and was waiting
desperatly for part two's character designs and story. Now part 3 is
scheduled for release in June and I thought since you have nothing lined
up for the 2nd half of the year so far, I think you should consider this
since you decided on doing Dragon Force. There's no other good
candidates for release IMHO. Please remember that the Langrisser series
in Japan is very popular, so popular that part one spawned off a
PC-Engine version and part two spawned off a Super Famicom version.
Another thing, good decision on Dragon Force, it looks awesome.

Eh? Lunar:DC and Rayearth are scheduled.

Again Lunar:DC and Rayearth are more than worthy candidates for
porting. As would Lunar 2:DC, Lunar 3, possibly Phantasy Earth if it
is good, etc etc.

As good as those titles are, I'd take a Saturn Langrisser over either one
of them in a heartbeat.

We're looking at it. I agree, looks pretty cool. The only problem is
that it's ANOTHER Strategy/RPG game. If we did it, that would make three
Strategy or Strategy derivatives in our release schedule for this year
(IRON STORM,
Dragon Force, and Lan3). I like Strategy/RPG games as much as the next
guy, but they're honestly a bitch to test, and Lan3 also has quite a bit
of audio. I dunno, IF we do it, it'll be a Late '96 release, for certain.

BTW, we've got Rayearth and LUNAR:Director's Cut for release in the 2nd
half of '96.

Thanks for your interest and support. IRON STORM REALLY IS ALMOST FINAL!
:)

Vic,

Please please please do Langrisser 3. I know you are one of the few
companies that actually listen to the customer, so, please, do convert
Langrisser 3 (and take your time doing it). Only problem I see is that
although there is a cult following for the series, not alot of
main-stream gamers remember the old Genesis game Master of Monster. I
don't know what the Saturn owners' would like to see, more fighting
games or more strategy games (I like Strategy games more). Oh well,
but, at least you guys are releasing some quality RPG's and War-sims.

Btw, if you do convert Langrisser 3, I promise to buy all of your
upcoming Saturn games (like I wouldn't anyway). :)

Steve

PS. I thought Sega is doing Dragon Force themselves? Is this the game
where each side has some 100 units duking it out?

Just another strategy/rpg!?! We're talking about Langrisser here!! ;)
It's bad enough Langrisser/Warsong fans in the US already missed out on
3 titles in the series. Please pick this game up! If the Saturn Langrisser
improves on the other titles the way a 32-bit sequel should, then it has
the potential to be WD's best game yet.

How is Albert Odyssey for the Saturn? Any good?

That is what I'm hoping.. Phantasy Star gameplay with a new
storyline.

I try to keep up-to-date on all Saturn RPG stuff (and since WD is
about the only one on Saturn, I'm really up-to-date with 'em). Come
by and visit, tell your friends, etc about the Lunar Outpost @
http://www.primenet.com/~jhill/outpost
Stuff of Iron Storm and Shining Wisdom coming very soon. And ASAP,
Lunar:DC.. I've already started asking when I can get my hands on
stuff from it. :)

You can order stuff direct from WD @ 916-243-3417 (but you pay
MSRP). Also, they should be online ordering of WD goodies sometime in
the near future.

Yes, there is character development and plot twists, depending on which
warlord you choose to play. This adds to the replay value of the game
quite a bit. However, just to be honest, the Strategy Element is
stronger than the RPG part...

Wouldn't it be reasonable to assume it takes place after Phantasy Star
III, considering the way that ended (in all 4 cases...). The story
possibilities presented at the end of #3 were quite exciting, and in some
ways I was dissappointed that PS4 went back to Algol...

As for Langrisseir, I'll snap it up just as quickly as any other WD game.

Vic (or anyone else), is it possible to get on a mailing list or
something similar to get info on the latest games/going-ons at WD? And
is it possible to order direct from WD? (cheaper than through retailers?)

Thanks!

Turn based RPG's with lots of Story are our first love, but they are in
REALLY short supply right now. Most games in Japan are either A/RPG,
Adventure, or S/RPG. There have been a few mediocre regular RPG's, but

we won't touch them. Don't give up hope, we're always looking for more...

You can order direct, but we have to charge full retail so as not to
compete with our retailers. the only cool part is that occasionally you
can get the game a day or two before it hits store shelves since we ship
Fed Ex for direct customer orders (included in the price).
