Landstalker HELP! Pirate Dungeon

Okay, you rare few that now have Landstalker:


HELP!

I've gotten to the statue of the Goddess in the third dungeon off the town of
Ryuma(sp?) (The one you get to via raft) and can progress no further. I have
the Magic sword, the red jewl, and that's about it. Am I missing something or
have I failed to perform a vital action.
