>They always have Techno music!!! It is okay in a few game but please don't
>it in like 95% of all games for the system!!!
You know, I agree with you on this one. I thought the first few games which
featured techno/dance music were pretty cool, but nowadays it seems like
every single game uses this type of music.
That, along with an amazing lack of playability in about 80% of the titles
are the main reason I don't own a PSX...yet.
Poom
Don't know why you bothered to post this in the Sega newsgroup... :-)
But anyhow, you can try these random comments on for size.
Ridge Racer: use Audio Tracks 1 or 2, or just pop the lid during gameplay.
Ridge Racer Revolution: loaded with techno, unfortunately. Use "Rare Hero
II", or just go to Options and turn down the BGM volume.
Need For Speed: go to Options, and choose a good rock tune rather than
an annoying techno tune. :-)
Loaded: no techno. :-)
Motor Toon Grand Prix: no techno AFAIK.
Philosoma: no techno AFAIK.
Parodius Deluxe: _cool tunes_, man!
Twisted Metal: ditto!
Raiden Project: 80's pop, but not techno.
Wipeout: stay away. :-)

Where do you shop? I pay the same
sometimes LESS for a PSX import than a
Saturn import.
Here anyway both are in the $65-75
range.
the only PSX import I've paid more than
$75 for was Tekken 2 which was $85.
R.
And dont forget that you CANT play the imports unless you use the stinkin'
"swap" method and fuck up your PSuX. And even then you will either get
messed up music or NO music at all. >:P

Actually its pretty true.

This is what I pay for a PSX import as well, actually ranging from 60 to
70, and I've had saturn imports range from 40 to 60. VF2 I paid 58, PD2 I
paid 48, Gradius Collection I paid 48.

Another ill-informed, smartass remark. Please note that the following
paragraphs are not to flame you or any Saturn owner (as I own one
myself), but to set the record straight and perhaps enlighten somebody in
the process.
I use the "stinkin' swap method" and I didn't have to spend $58 US on a
converter. I use a 79-cent spring... and my Playstation is still going
strong. As far as music is concerned, you just have to figure out the
best boot disk (Tekken) and in most cases, your music will be fine.
That's what I've experienced.
FURTHERMORE, NCS has a PSX ROM upgrade for around $58 that totally removes
the territorial lockout, and therefore, the need for boot swapping. This
means that ALL Playstations old or young can enjoy the same imports.
