Why does something so small like free throws have to be so difficult to the
point of not fully enjoying this game? I guess I better shut the fouls off or
something. Anyone have any tips to make free throws easier? Thanks.

Like in basketball or any game for that matter......it's practice. Believe
me, you will get to the point where you think, "Hey they could've made it
harder!" of all things. Just keep plugging away, you'll get it. I would
recommend gripping your hands firmly on the controller so that you feel
"planted". From there, pull the triggers in slowly using the tips of your
fingers.

the book says you have to do them both at the same time...i don't know if it's
a bug in or something but i find it a lot easier to pull the left trigger in,
hold my left finger steady, and then kind of quickly pull the right one in and
as soon as it hits the middle i hit x...also, why did visual concepts think
that this made free throws more realistic...sure it's harder just like real
life but there's no difference between shooters, making people shoot equally
hard freethrows doesn't make it realistic

It's not that hard, just takes a little practice. Try to relax and
squeeze both triggers equally until the arrows line up.

These opinions are solely those of the author and your mileage may vary

That's my only problem with the foul shooting in NBA2k. My team was the Lakers
and I was EXPECTING to miss free throws about midway through the 2nd qtr. I
didn't miss a thing for the rest of the game. It's takes away from the
simulation and realism of the NBA......not everyone is going to sink every
single freethrow they throw up when they get to the line. But this is a minor
gripe.....NBA2k still RULEZ!!!!

I agree....I was thinking they were all the same...Then I shot with Shaq, then I
knew it was the same...

To make the game more interesting in 2p vs. mode, we turn the level to All-Star, and
then you get the real 10-sec clock (hurried up) for FT shots; makes it funner, I
think.

I usually just push both triggers at the same time quickly and; viola, they
usually hit dead center. It sometimes takes 3-4 tries, but it's a snap. I had
Shaq shooting about 90% from the line. V.C. either needs to change this
technique or make it harder. Free throws are way to easy, even for the bad
FT shooters.
Offensive rebounding is also way off. for the computer controlled teams. The
Spurs are averaging 24 OR and only 15 DR. What the heck is up with that.
There's about 7 teams who have more OR then DR after 30 games. It's too
bad Sega rushed V.C. to get this game completed. I would have rather they
waited another 2 months and brought it out in Jan or Feb with all the bugs
fixed. Oh well, NBA 2K1 should be a lot better.
