This is a game that has to happen. There aren't many great RPG's on the
Dreamcast right now. Although, I hear that Working Designs is working on
PS2 games! How did that happen? They used to be Sega-Exclusive. Too bad
Sega doesn't have Square and EA doing games for them. I'd love to see
Metal Gear Solid on DC, but you know that won't happen either. Still, I
can't wait for Ecco, Shenmue, and Seaman.

Bring on RPG's Sega.

As for WD, they don't make games. They only translate them. So they can't
really be "working" on anything. Plus if WD ever developed RPGs themselves,
I doubt their whole staff of 12 people could tackle the PS2. They'd most
likely have to develop for DC then, even though Vic "hates" Sega, because
it's a lot easier to program for.

Working Designs simply localizes games... it hasn't made a single game
yet. =)

Half a decade ago, Sega gave Working Designs a bad booth at one of the
trade shows. Victor Ireland, head of WD, got pissed and withdrew WD's
support of Sega.

Check dejanews. This is a gross oversimplification of what transpired and
is now a common r.g.v.ega/sony myth.

Lordy, how's THAT for oversimplification??? I guess you'd also say that 55 years
ago a few folks got a little upset at Germany, Italy, and Japan, huh?

Seriously, I think there was a great deal more to that story than a bad booth at a
trade show. Mind you, since the SoA management that was involved in this tiff has
moved on, I suppose it might be possible for WD to do a sega game if they wanted to
and if the right property came along. At the moment, though, from where I'm
sitting it looks like they're making way too much money doing PSX games to bother
with DC. They're a small shop, after all, and I'd hate to see them spread
themselves any thinner.

Well Gamearts made Silpheed but that's coming out on PS2... And also
Vic said if Stolar (whom he hates and I don't blame Vic) left Sega
he'd develop for them... Besides, what PS2 games could Vic port over?
TVDJ? that game with Britney Spears in it? For Sega, we have Bangaioh
(shoe-in for a port), Black Matrix AD, Napple Tale, etc...

Woah, Silpheed? Wasn't that the cheesy shooter that came out on Sega CD?

Yeah it was also on the computer, they're making a new Silpheed for
PS2 with much better graphics... Honestly I think it's one of the best
looking PS2 titles yet..

This is getting off-topic, but... wasn't Working Designs planning on making
their own game at one point or another? Just a rumor I remember from way
back when.

They were planning on making one for PCs called "Serpent's Kiss", but
that idea was canned.
