The Top Ten Street Fighter Movie Game Names!!

Now, you may remember a few weeks back when I asked all net.citizens to help Capcom come up with a name for our new Street Fighter game for the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn. I was literally flooded with responses, and it has taken me awhile to get my act together to respond. Sorry I couldn't do it personally to everyone who sent me an idea, but, let's be real, there are a lot of SF fans out there. Now, I can't promise that we'll actually use your suggestion (we may just call it Street Fighter The Movie, boring!), but if we do, you will be credited in the manual, and we might even be able to get your name in the credits of the game. The winner will receive a copy of the game for either system as soon as it rolls off the presses. Thanks once again to everyone who submitted!

I got a lot of good ideas, some fair ideas, some poor ideas, and some really funny ideas (Electric Boogaloo, heh heh), and I also had a lot of duplicate ideas. A whole bunch of "Street Fighter Live" and "Street Fighter Cinema" -type names, so if you see a name on this list that you sent to me, but are not credited for, don't get pissed off. I took into account the names I received at first, so someone might have beaten you to the punch. Sorry. These names were reviewed by members of the Marketing Staff, and will be submitted for approval when the game comes up. (PS - I'm not including the winners whole addresses 'cause I don't want them being mailbombed by any action of mine; however, they should feel free to stand up on their own). Here we go -

10. Street Fighter Extreme - Masatoshi H. @ Stanford

9. Street Fighter: World Legends - Matt K @ SAU

8. Street Fighter: Conquest of the Warrior - Gasman @ Netcom

7. Street Fighter: Assault on Shadowloo - Crying Freeman @ UIUC

6. Street Fighter: The Ultimate Champions - Ben R. @ CRL

5. Street Fighter: Ground Zero - Jaime @ Crossroads.Ultranet

4. Street Fighter: Fist of Shadowloo - Theo Y. @ SFU

3. Street Fighter: Showdown With Shadowloo - Eddy T @ GAS.UUG.Arizona

2. Street Fighter: Fury of the Warriors - caporale @ Netcom

(drumroll please)

1. Street Fighter: Warriors of Conquest, Defenders of Justice - Jeff @ Coolguy

Tah Dah! Jeff wins himself a copy of the Street Fighter Movie game for either Saturn or PlayStation. I want to thank everyone who helped out, especially all the people who kept on me to post the results (sometimes an additional kick in the pants is required). Once again, I apologize for the delay in posting this. Thanks everyone!

Street Fighter: Warriors of Conquest, Defenders of Justice ????

This name is CHEESY as HELL!! What are you guys at Capcom thinking of???

Personally, I prefer the titles listed as #3, #4, and #7

Street Fighter: Showdown With Shadowloo

Street Fighter: Fist of Shadowloo

Street Fighter: Assault on Shadowloo

These names don't sound cheesy and still retain some connection with
the actual movie. Please reconsider your choice!

Yep. Conquest simply doesn't make sense. Unless the movie plot is THAT
different from the game, the majority of the characters are not
interested in conquest. Plus, warriors of conquest simply doesn't make
sense.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the gramatic form would be:
--
Warriors of [Organization]
--
For example: Warriors of France, Warriors of the Underworld, Warriors of
Yanknir's Army.

Warriors of Conquest doesn't make sense. Is there an organization called
"conquest?

Item Number Two: is M.Bison a defender of justice? How about Akuma,
Sagat, Vega, and Balrog? Hmmm... perhaps:
Street Fighter: Defenders of Justice, plus some evil boss characters.

Oh, yes, I can just see it: SFWOCDOJ, or, for short, SFWCDJ. Wake the
FFUUCCKK -~UP~- Capcom! We want a shorter name, damnit!

I personally like Street Fighter: Shoryuken, or Shadow Shoryuken, or JUST
PLAIN Shoryuken. Short, to the point, and cool.

SFWOCDOJ? This has *got* to be a joke to repay all of our jokes. Capcom's
just not that stupid, no offense.

I know this is too late, but I might as well throw in a suggestion. How
about "The Street Fighters" (note the pluralization of "Fighters")? Although
not too creative, it's practical. Or maybe just call it "Street Fighters".
Nah, then what would we use for an acronym?

Hey, at least TSF is better than SFWOCDOJ.

Just a thought,
Paul Cordeiro

PS: Hell, why not just keep it as SFTM?
