Before you buy.
Are you sure? They have it nationally advertised today at $46.99. There's
also a $5 off coupon in their ad. Of course I wouldn't recommend shopping
at Toys R Us if you're looking for good prices. Sounds like that's the
first time you've been there, because I don't recall them ever having good
prices on new games. Seeing high prices for games at TRU shouldn't be a
shock to anyone.

That's not right. Electronic's Boutique, Software Etc., and Babbages have
been around and selling games for more than 10 years. Departments stores
(like Sears, Montgomery Wards, etc. ) and discount stores (like K-Mart,
Target, etc.) have also been selling games for more than 10 years. There
have been numerous choices since the NES days. Not that it's really
important, just a little history. :)

Actually, I've seen Gameboy games for $25 at TRU that would be $30 at
other places. (Online anyway.)
Hell, the Atari 2600 didn't even get off the drawing board until Sears agreed to carry it
(as the Sears Video Arcade). This was back in the 1970's.

Not too bad if you like shopping at TRU but still want a good price !
Like anything else, if you want a good price on games, shop around a
little before you buy.

Use coupons...use their price-matching policy, and take advantage of close out
sales, and TRU is a good place to shop. Those $5 NES joysticks, $7 Saturn
sticks, and $10 N64 sticks that I got at TRU weren't a bad deal at all. Some
of their new-release games ARE expensive, (I remember Castlevania for SNES
being $64.99...yikes!), but that is where you use the price-match! Be a smart
consumer!
Jason
I wouldn't say their prices are outrageous, but like the posts say, use
the price match.

Why not shop at EB?? Their whole business is video/computer games, so why
the hell complain about prices at a TOY STORE. EB is much cheaper and
fairer, coz video games arent a subsidiary, its their whole business!

I wouldn't say EB is necessarily cheaper as all of those that I've been to (along
with Software Etc.) is typically $5-$10 higher than most retail places (Target,
Wal-Mart, even TRU) - usually because they're located in a mall.

You can find some deals there sometimes. Of course, it's funny to go over
to the SNES section and see that they still want $69.99 for
Street Fighter Alpha 2.
Sorry, EB is relativly new in Australia, we dotn have main mainstream
videogame stores, with the exception of Eb. We have shitloads of individual
ones though. And we DO have TRU.
