Langrisser 3, Warsong sequel?

Does anyone know if Langrisser 3 is one of the sequels to Warsong?
If it is, does anyone have any ideas if this game will get ported
to North America? I played Warsong and I think it's the best
strategy/rpg ever made. It was a damn shame no one saw fit to
port the sequels.

Not entirely correct. First, the Raygard Empire is not really "evil", Emperor
Bernhardt wanted to unify the continent to put an end to the endless wars.
While his means were direct and brutal, it does not make him "evil", just
military minded. In his own country he was never considered to be an "evil"
ruler. Heck, in two of the imperial storylines you fight _Chaos_ in the end.

Also, there are many story paths in Der Langrisser with four possible
alignments - Light (Lushiris+Jessica), Raygard (Bernhardt+Leon), Chaos
(Bozel) and Independent (where you fight everyone else). The story line
where you fight Lushiris in the Land of the Gods is actually the last
scenario in the Independent storyline.

The latest GameFan has a two-page spread on the PC-FX Der Langrisser,

Oh yes, War Song is definitely one of my favourites as well.

If my memory is correct, Langerisser first appear on Mega drive with a
Japanese title. Later on, it was translated to English and become
know as War Song.

Lungrissar 2 appear on Mega drive initially and was later ported to
SFC. So far no translated version that I know of.

Intereting enough, the SFC version has a few modification. One of
them is the possibility of selecting a different story path. It
allows you select the dark side where you initially band up with the
evil empire. The evil empire will subsequently leave you too and you
are left with forces of the creatures from the dark. After finally
defeating the evil empire, the final scence is a show down between you
and guest what, the Light goddess in the sky palace !!!

According to the HK game gamazine's report on the 96 Tokyo toy show,
Masiya, the game developer, displayed Langerisser 3. It seems likely
that it will be available on the Saturn platform.
