Japanese Console Charts

Dreamcast had 2 in the top 30 this week, a good week.

#4 Kanon- sold 60,028 in it's first week of release
#6 Capcom vs. SNK- sold 29,434 in it's second week- 190,623 to date

Dreamcast made up 13.2% of software sales in the top 50- good. Only 4,364
systems sold this week though against 46,256 PS2 units. That's bad but
we've come to expect it at this point.

The #2 most wanted game is Sakura Taisen 3 and it is about the only
Dreamcast game at this point in Japan that will move significant numbers of
units, but even for this game, I'm not expecting all that many to be moved.
The game should sell for sure atleast 400,000 though. The ST1 remake for
Dreamcast sold over 100,000 and it had been released on Saturn years
earlier. ST2 was released recently in Japan, this week and is doing pretty
well so Dreamcast should do quite well on the charts next week too.
Hopefully they will have atleast 3 games (almost assured)- ST2, CvSNK, and
Kanon- maybe even another, who knows? Dead or Alive 2 comes out soon for
Dreamcast and it will sell well, also Eternal Arcadia comes out soon and it
will sale very well. Sales should pick up in Japan for Dreamcast games
atleast, I'm not counting on a ton of extra systems to be moved though.
Anyway, DC is doing great in America as we all know, hopefully it will stay
solid in Japan so DC can enjoy a nice success on both sides of the sea.
