If an arcade doesn't have a version of SF or SS in it, then it's not an

Actually, besides the RAM, isn't the Saturn a superior 2D machine?
I think so... But it never really got many games since SNK and Capcom
were basically the only houses working on 2D games, and they
obviously wouldn't go to the ST-V when they have their own technologies
in place...

Know where I can get any kind of tech specs for the CPS2? Like colors
on screen, resolution (is it still around 320x224?), CPU, RAM, sprite
capabilities, etc? Also for the CPS3? I've been searching for that
stuff on the net with no luck. I know there must not be that much
information released relating to these systems.

Resolution is probably as you say. Vertically it can't be any more than 240,
because the picture isn't interlaced, and it's standard 15.75kHz...same for
CPS3.
I've probably got that EGM article around here somewhere. I don't have time
to look for it now, but I'll eventually find it when I go through that stuff
(probably months from now). In any case, when I do find it, I'll post a
summary (or mail it to you) of whatever specs it gave just in case you're
still looking by then...
Hmm, I did see a CPS2 and CPS3 "FAQ" (more of an ego-trip for its author
IMO) on GameFAQs, they give some specs. I have no way to verify if they're
correct or not, and I don't know the author's source of the info. Take a
look:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/coinop/arcade/faq/capcom_cps2.txt
http://www.gamefaqs.com/coinop/arcade/faq/capcom_cps3.txt
And FYI, though he doesn't mention it (and I told him), CPS3 also has the
"Battery of Death(tm)"...
