Sally: the answer is obvious when you think about it: don't sacrifice your friends but "yourself". try that.

Okay, here's my problem. I got to the dragon clan town, and have now
entered the tower where only the 'destined child' can enter, hoping to
find the Anfini power the people in town were talking about. So I found
the old wise men, and was transported to the room where I'm supposed to
talk to all my friends before I choose someone to sacrifice for the
power.. and something's going wrong. Let's see if I can explain.. I
entered each doorway, talked to my friends, led them through the twisty
hallway to the room at the end, talked to them again, and they disappear.
(This is the only way the old dude would move so I could go into the room
with the duplicate of me in it.) So now I have to choose someone to
sacrifice, and go into his/her room.. so I choose and go in (sheesh hard
choice too, I think) but once I reach the room there's no one in there
(same for all of the rooms). Then I get thrown back to the beginning and
the old guy says I can't obtain the power with "that kind of attitude".
Obviously I really need Anfini to finish the game. so what's going on? am
I doing something wrong? All the rooms are empty it seems, except the one
with the duplicate of me, so it seems there's no way I can choose anyone..

I would really appreciate some help. =)

You need to go back into your OWN room...a true hero would sacrifice himself
before his friends :) Your alter ego will start demeaning you for being
weak, but just continue to say you won't sacrifice your friends and eventually
you will get Anfini.

Go into the room where your double is and keep refusing to choose one of
your friends to die. It will say the journey is over, but it isn't.
