Well...
A NES/TV all-in-one unit does exist and was an officially licensed
product produced by Sharp - but as far as I know, it was only released
in Japan. There was a model produced with a built-in Super Famicom,
too, also by Sharp.
However, I have an old issue of EGM that was announcing the Japanese
release of the SFC/TV and it mentioned the previous FC version, but
also stated that a version of the system was available briefly in the
U.S. But I've always assumed that to be some type of misprint, as
I've never heard of anyone owning one and certainly have never seen
one (even in pictures), aside from the Japanese FC version.
So maybe there was a US version after all and that's what you're
thinking of. Sure would love to find definitive proof that a U.S.
model existed, though.

Yep, I had forgotten about them but my friend had a TV with a "Game"
slot that let you play NES games on it. I think it was broken
though...they were probably made like crap to begin with.

You're not dreaming, Kmart did have a TV with built in NES deck. And it
had the Official Seal of Quality so it was licensed by Nintendo. I
don't remember the make or model of the TV but it's fairly rare and I'd
like to have one just for it's odd factor.
There are many more such TV/video game hybrid that were mainly used in
hotels like Genesis, SNES, even Atari 2600. They are on limited time
pay to play type so the game can get expensive real easily.

Has pictures of the unit in question. It's 19" and is shown playing a US
game.
Lot's of cool things at that site, BTW, check them out!
