I actually never seen a game boy pocket. What's the difference between the
two game boys ? Is the gameboy pocket better ? Is it costing less than
regular gameboy ? E-mail me please...

I just got a gameboy pocket but I've never tried the original.

The gameboy pocket has a bigger, clearer image. It uses two AAA
batteries instead of four AA batteries, so the batteries don't last as
long. It is smaller and lighter. You can slip it in your shirt pocket.
It doesn't have as many accessories (yet). It comes in 6 colors. It's
cheaper ($50). Everything else is the same. It plays all gameboy
games. It's 8 bit. You can link it with other gameboys for multiplayer
games. It's got a bunch of different ports on it for connecting stuff.

The main competition seems to be the Sega Nomad. It's a lot bigger and
it has a color display, 6 buttons, and it uses 6 batteries which don't
last too long because it uses a lot of juice. It plays all Sega
Genesis games. The disadvantage is you can't just stick it in your
pocket and it uses more energy so it's not as convenient to take
around as the gameboy.

In my opinion I think the gameboy is a really cool gadget to take
around. I think it's better than Nomad because Nomad is too big and
heavy to comfortably take around wherever you go. The Gameboy pocket
is smaller than a paperback book. If I want pretty color games I can
play at home on my IBM PC with the Pentium and 3DFX Voodoo 3d card.

Well. . . I didn't think there was much of a difference at
first. But. . .

Gameboy Pocket is about 1/2 the total size of original
Gameboy. Making it even more convenient to carry although a bit tiny
in the hands.

Runs on two AAA batteries. I'm not sure if the battery life
is shorter or not. It's not like GB is a very demanding system
technically. So. . . I'll find out tho

The screen! The display is the biggest difference I have to
comment on and perhaps the best improvement. It's a silver/black
display instead of the green/black one of the old GB. Thus you have a
*much* sharper image. I mean *much* it's a dramatic improvement and
IMO safer on the eyes for extended gameplay.

The only draw-back. . . which is kind of a hassle. All the
peripherals except the headphone port have been reduced in size! Ack!
So you need a smaller link cable ( I still think GB and pGB users
should have the ability to link, although there may be some kind of
convertor available from a 3rd party), Smaller AC adapter. . . and
that's it but it's still a $30 investment if you buy the Nintendo
brand stuff.

AND. . . the original GB has a noticeably LOUDER speaker.

And. . . . (I'm running off at the mouth) I'm not sure if it's
just me but the original model silver pGB with the silver frame around
the screen either: A) Had better resolution, B) The silver boarder
wasn't as intrusive as the black boarders, C) I'm just on crack and
imagining those situations.

So is it worth it? Yeah. If you're an avid portable
enthusiast get one. You'll save your eyes.
