I called Nintendo and they said that the release date was September 1st.
And what are Tim the Magnificent's sources, and where do they say the
game is available, because I've been busting my ass looking for it?

I believe that the game has been finished, translation, approval, and
packaging. Some stores will get it before September [games take about
2 weeks to ship from the factories]. Remember, games arrive at retailers
several days before the official roll-out so try to find favour with
your local store and they might sell you a copy before they put it on
the shelves. I get my games days before everyone else!

Chronotrigger will be shipping from the manufacturer on August 21st. From
there it just depends on how fast the retailers want it at their store.
Best guess? Everyone will have it in by the end of that week. Makes for
a great way to blow out a weekend!

probably have sold out. :)

The exact date has been set for some time now.

August 21st! which means Monday, which means some stores have a quick
enough turnaround to get it in the shop ON Monday, probably Tuesday.

Well the full retail price at the Software Etc where I work (and that would
mean the majority of Software Etcs and Babbageses) was $84.99, but I
personally got it for $67 and a small bit of change because I get an
employee discount. Now, if anyplace is selling it for $67 (which is
entirely possible, like Best Buy or something) I have not seen it, but then
again I did not go shopping around.

Anyone living in the Boston area, check out the EB in the Cambridgeside
Galleria. They received about 30 copies and they are selling it for $69.99.
