First Off, I don't expect everybody to take my word for it, but do yourself a
favour and give Cruis'n a chance! The review by NG is way off. They said the
game felt slow, it actually feels faster than the arcade, they were right
about the pop-up, but the arcade did the same thing, if your eyes are focused
on your car and where it is going you barely notice. The graphics are great
and the sound is also quite good, there are alot of options for the racing
tunes, so I'm sure you can find a few you are in to.

There is way more to this game compared to the the arcade, there are
extra tracks and cars, and a ton of options.

The contol is better than the arcade, the analog control stick makes the car
fly around the track!

Most importantly this game is still a ton of fun to play, if you liked the
arcade you will love this game!

And Finally..don't forget this is Nintendo's first car racing game for this
system, and Cruis'n is light years beyond..Ridge Racer and Daytona!

Justin

Star Wars is also killer..but there are enough good reviews for this game.

You lost all credibility with that last statement.

Exactly! Crusi'n is not as bad as N64.com said it was! i thought it was
gonna look like an NES game, but it was still cool! the only thing is
you have to finish in 1st place to get to the next stage.
the pop-up isn't so bad, at least it fades in and it's only really
noticable in open areas. Such as when there's a bridge, or the beginning
of the redwood forest when the trees start appear. after that you feel
like you're really in the forest driving through trees and everything!

ne way, for those who don't know what i'm saying go to my web page at
http://www.anthrox.com to see some pics i made of the game, as well as
some MP3 sampled audio from the game.
Also have Shadows of the Empire and KI Gold page up there..

It's also lightyears beyond Rad Racer on the NES, that doesn't mean that
the NES was a poor system, or Rad Racer was a crappy game. Times
change. Shadows of the Empire is also lightyears ahead of Return of the
Jedi on the Intellivision. Does that mean that it wasn't a good game
when it came out? No. I really hate people who think that the system
they own is the best, and all other systems suck.

Can't disagree with you at all I just got it and I think it's great
not only graphic wise but the control just feels right. IMO a great
ARCADE racer! Now off to find a copy of SOTE.

Hey man, chill out! I have Waverace and plan on getting Cruis'n.
They're both good games, even if one is better than the other. I have
a lot of great memories of playing Cruis'n in the arcade, and would
love to relive them at home. Also, Cruis'n is a lot of fun two
player. I loved competing head to head 2player in the arcade, and
can't wait to take on my girlfriend at home! That is if we can find
one for Christmas. I don't think any place in town has it. . .

Yeah.. Lights years ahead? Maybe to the Saturn shitty version of daytona
but not to the PSK/Arcade Ridge Racers or Arcade Daytona.. Sorry..

I bought Crusin myself and I think it's a pretty good Game. Not
GREAT, but good. I have 6 N64 games right now, All except KI Gold and
MK. Waverace is GREAT, and if you have to pick one or the other,
Waverace is the one to go with. Don't even give it a second thought.
But Crusin isn't all that bad. Sure it could use some work. But all
in all, not that Bad. For most, it's a good game to rent. If you
expected Crusin to be more then was at the arcade, well you doing to
be disappointed. I havn't played is a whole lot yet as I'm been
pretty bust with Shadows of the Empire. Anyone who says that game is
simple as hell is full of crap! It's not very simple on EASY, think
I'm on Level 4 or 5 or something on Easy right now, I went back to
Medium and I can't git past part 4 in the first stage right now, and
there's still HARD and JEDI level left.

Agreed! I'm finding just playing on EASY to be enough of a challenge. So
far I've only made it to the Gail Spaceport. I defeated the AT-AT
mini-boss and was on my way to beat up on Boba Fett when I died for the
5th and last time. I think I need to go back and play the earlier levels
and get some more lives to bring to this level.

I went back and tried the 1st level again on medium and thought for sure I
had it beat since I just had to tangle one more AT-AT when I crashed into
his legs AARRGGGHHHH. :-)

I'm not talking about the arcade!! The home versions were quite poor and did
not offer anything new!

No way, I've played both games, and while Cruis'n looks pretty good
(except for the flattened trees, what the hell is that?!?) Ridge Racer
plays way better, just my opinion though. Cruis'n COULD have been a
badass game, if they'd just taken a little more time with it.

Well you should have said the Saturn shitty graphics version of
daytona. It is still the same game with the same gameplay.....and is
better than n64's crusin.
