But wait, DKC was only ONE game in Nintendo's library that sold that

majority are in a lower price range. Now, what happens if U64's library
consists totally of games that are $75, or slightly above or below that?
Remember, DKC was ONE $75 game that sold 7.5 million...people might stop
buying $75 games if they ALL cost that much...I know I would.

FF3, Chrono Trigger, SF2, SSF2, DKC, ALL were TOP-selling games, ALL
were at $70-75. If the games are GOOD in quality, then people will buy
them, my point is proven with DKC selling 7.5 million. BTW, doesn't
Astal cost $70 (it's a cd game)? So far I have yet to see a QUALITY
Saturn game. So far NONE of the games out (which are ONLY six) are
considered as Saturn-sellers (which means that there aren't any game
out there that will make people buy a Saturn). Cruis'n USA and KI2
will change your mind about the $75 being TOO much. The Shoshinkai Show
is coming...ONLY three more months.

True. I remember when Super Mario 3 hit the stores. Man, the price for
that game didn't come down for YEARS where I lived. $55-65 for a NES
game was ridiculous back then (even though it was an excellent game).
But people will buy a "hot" game sometimes despite the price, such as
DKC. I doubt DKC2 will sell as many as the original. Still, these
prices are preliminary - they are still bound to change. I think
Nintendo knows now that they have real contenders for the home vid crown,
and they don't want to ostracize their "loyal" customers. IMHO (VERY
humble =)) I think they'll want to increase a user base first. That's
why the U64 is (hopefully) $250. That price'll get the units in the home
quicker perhaps than the other consoles (well, that April release date is
hanging in my mind, so I'm probably gonna eat my words on that one).
Plus, the games CAN'T reasonably be priced so high; they're gonna miss
the Christmas season rush, and their gonna hafta sacrifice the price in
spring, I think.

It's all timing, and admittedly, it seems to be bad. Still, I'd rather
wait for a console that works properly with quality games, rather than
have something that's rushed. Hehe, but I can't wait that long!

-Please, feel free to comment. After all, it's MHO... =)

Peace,

Ok, you got me there.

-> So far I have yet to see a QUALITY Saturn game.

In your opinion. I happen to think quality is a subjective term. I
think VF for Saturn is a quality game--even with minor graphic flaws,
the music and most importantly, the gameplay are excellent.

-> So far NONE of the games out (which are ONLY six) are considered as
-> Saturn-sellers (which means that there aren't any game
-> out there that will make people buy a Saturn).

Again, in your opinion. I loved VF in the arcade, and it was that game
that made me buy a Saturn. I don't regret my purchase at all. And for
the lack of games...well, I'm being patient :-) The best for the Saturn
has yet to come, and just because the games now are not, as you say,
quality games does not mean it won't improve in the future. I am
waiting for VF2, X-men, Darkstalkers 2, as well as some of the
role-playing games. To dismiss a system so quickly seems kind of
strange...

-> Cruis'n USA and KI2 will change your mind about the $75 being TOO
-> much.

One final time, in your opinion. I don't care at all for driving games,
and although KI was kind of cool...for a month...unless some of the
problems from the first game are fixed, playwise, I might not be
interested in playing it.

Hi,

I thin Nintendo is doing a smart thing. When you look at the big
picture, in April'96 people will be treated to 10+ quality games and
one awesome system for $250. But till then, Nintendo will have us busy.

Killer Instinct - Sept (Aug 30)
Yoshi's Island - Oct
DKC - Dec
Zelda -?
*Plus, other games like EarthWorm Jim 2, and Chrono Trigger.

They will keep us busy this year.
Along with the Virtual Boy, Nintendo seems confident that the delay
will have no major impact in their sales. With DKC2, KI, and Yoshi's
Island, Nintendo will make millions this Christmas (that's not counting
Virtual Boy sales). Nintendo has christmas under control. Then when
everything is cooled down and PSX/Saturn sales get to a steady state,
Nintendo will launch the U64 which is destined to blow away the
competition. Remember, on November 24th, we'll get to see TEN U64 games
in the Shoshinkai Show. Great comments :) See ay around
