You know what they told me today (Dec 2) at Kay Bee toys here in
Fayetteville, Arkansas about Star wars? The guy at the desk said they
would not have it for about a week and that it would be selling for
$110.00!!!! What is wrong with Kay Bee? Have they gone insane? Or is it
just the Kay Bee here? Anyone else here this from their KB toys?

SOTE at the local Software Etc. is $89. It's ridiculous--if Nintendo
expects people to pay that much, they have another thing coming. If I
cannot find it for less that $70 anywhere, I will sell my N64. It's a nice
system, but at these prices--quite frankly--I cannot afford the games.

The Toys R Us here told me they would be selling it for 59.99 to
those who reserved their copy.. (Lucky ME!!) And 64.99 to the rest...
I guess because they will be getting barely enough for the preorders..

Sorry kid, but I think I will stick to Kay Bee. There prices may be slightly higher than
toys r us but at least kaybee's head is not as big as toys r us.

TRU is thinking to much about more money and stuff.. PLUS they can't order enough games
to meet their high demand for it.

Its not Nintendo. Its the retailers. They figure that since the system
just came out and that there are only a handfull of games available that
they can charge just about anything. The same happened when the SNES
came out. Give it a few months and the prices will be dropping. If you
want cheeper prices go to an electronics store like Best Buy. BB does
not see the game market as their primary business like toy stores and
game stores. BB will advertise games at low prices to get parents into
the stores and then hope to sell them more expensive things like TVs and
stereos.

KB Toys is yet another store like EB and Software Etc, that charge
Very High Prices for there software! They think, and probley will get
people buying it at that price, at least for now, so there's selling
it for that much. $110 seems even high for them though, I would think
it would be around $90 also. Well don't buy from then. I know for a
fact you can get it for less then $70 at TRU. Even less at other
places.

For one thing, I'm not a " Kid "
Two, I'd rather get mine at TRU, The Kay Bee Here is sold out and
they are selling their copy for 94.95... I THINK NOT!!!

I like Kay Bee, Don't get me wrong... The Kay bee Toys in Missippi
which is the same distance from the one in Mobile Alabama to me is
also sold out, but they were selling it for 69.99... I think the one
in Mobile is just doing that for extra money for their "pockets"..

I also picked up my copy of SOTE at KAY Bee in Pittsburgh for only $79.00.
They had many copies but would only sell to those who had pre ordered.

I live in Tampa, and Three Best Buys just opened within the local bay
area. I picked up Waverace and Cruisen for 59 bucks and I just got Shadow
today for sixty seven bucks. I have yet to understand why the price
differences of sometimes twelve bucks have occurred. Usually I have had
to pay top dollar for games. I mean games like DKC3 are even more
expensive, and are not near the quality I've seen in shadows. If anyone
else has seen this maybe you can give some insight.

Big differences come into play when you shop at different stores. TRU
seems to set the standard in price, SOTE for $70. But TRU is a very large
retail chain which can afford to sell the games for that price. Best Buy,
being an electronics store, also grosses a lot of money, and can beat
TRU's price by a whole $3. I don't know about Kay Bee, looks like they
milk their customers for every penny they have. I've also heard that SOTE
is $63 at Target (guess where I'll be tomorrow), this is just a gimmick to
get parents to come to there store to do holiday shopping, but one that
the video-gamer can take advantage of.

Looks like it's going to be a hectic holiday for Nintendo. I bet if 1
million more N64's came out in time for Christmas there would still be a
few kids who didn't get one.

ONLY $79.00??!! This is just ridiculous. We're spending what a console
would have cost us not too long ago. I'm not trying to live in the past
but crap, this is just highway robbery. I started buying console games
because I was sick of adding peripherals to my computer but now, computer
peripherals cost less than a couple N64 games.

something has to be done about this price thing..

What, I bought my SOTE for $59.99 at TRU.. For the quality of the game
I find that really resonible, especially since all the new Playstation
games are also marked at $59.99... whoever said Playstation was cheaper
must be some sort of lunatic..

No they're not. $59 is perhaps what Software Etc. will charge; go to Best
Buy and you will get them for under $50. Whoever said Playstation games
cost $59 must be some sort of lunatic...
