Is there any chance that this game will be ported to the Nintendo 64?
Will Square ever make another Nintendo product?

Thanks,

There is a VERY good chance, unlike many people say, that Square will
again (or may actually be now) working on things for Nintendo. I'm
fairly certain FF7 WILL be for the PSX (not necessarily ONLY for the
PSX, tho) because of all the commercials and media already done in
japan for FF7 and PSX. However, I have 100% confirmation of a
Nintendo Employee WORKING in SquareLA's offices.

I maintain a web page on Squaresoft Rumors at
http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/6865/ and that topic is hot in
there. Check it out!

In order for this game to work for N64, they'd have to reprogram it
completely... so I'd say NO. Rumor has it FF8 is 64DD, but there was
never a confirmation of that.

Right now, the PSX and MAYBE Win95 will have Square titles... Win95 has
not had a single game confirmed, and in a way it kinda stinks we won't get
N64 Square games for a while. I have a PSX (thank the maker for
contests!), and I think Square would probably be making a mistake by not
making any N64 titles.

As of now, if you want FF7 or FF Tactics, you gotta buy a PSX. Hopefully
Square'll do something, but I wouldn't hold my breath yet.

FF Tactics looked like a more fun game than FF7, gave more the
impression of a colorful Square game.

I don't think they have any projects in progress for the N64 right now
mainly because of the manpower they've devoted to PSX right now. It's
taking a load of people to work on FF7, and I heard that they got the
go ahead to start working on Chrono Trigger 2. I too think that
Square will work with Nintendo again but not until the 64DD comes out.

Actually, Some people from Nintendo have been sent into a hush-hush
Square commitee. 64DD game in the near future?

And CT2 is for Saturn....they've got a load of work cut out for
them :)

Chances of FF7 coming to Nintendo are slim at best. Square will
probably develop N64 games but not for awhile. Personally i wish
technology would stay at 32 bit and would (in a way) like little more than
to see N64 go down in flames. Chronotrigger is (i believe) under
development for psx along with Sa Ga Frontier, FF Tactics, Bushido Blade,
and about 16 others are coming. IMHO the only solution for Square and
Namco freaks like myself is to own a PS and an N64.

Intresting enough, CT2 and Sa Ga are slated for release on the
Saturn. Perhaps this is Square revenge on Sony for saying "Square is a
PSX exclusive".

Why the hell did you bump this after so many years? Especially when you weren't even part of the original discussion.

Spastic. Don't do that.

So? This newsgroup is like a ghost town anyways! No one ever post here.

I was thinking about paying attention to it, because I'm going through a
'nintendo phase'. :-)

I don't see much activity, but i do check regularly.

I should post some stuff more often. I'm not saying it would be good or
anything.

Ha, I could do 'news' if anyone would be interested, I'm not sure what
the expectations are there.

I would look here before the web, but that's just me perhaps.

Yeah, I hear you. I think that the nature of usenet is such that bumping
old threads should perhaps be the default. You want relevant and
up-to-date, go to a forum. Where else can you legitimately follow up on
a discussion that started over 20 years ago? It's a bit like adding
graffiti to a wall. At the same time, people often put useful, relevant
things on those walls over top the old crud. I say go for it, post
whatever floats your boat and don't worry about it being "good."
