Can't seem to beat Legion, the guy is hard as hell! I'm thinking
that maybe I need the Violator to do it. I know it's located
somewhere in the Playrooms, but does anybody know exactly where? I
know for sure I won't be able to get the one in the "mystery" door
since I can't seem to find the last few dark souls.
Anyway, thanks for any help. This is one of the best games I've
ever played and it sucks to be right at the end and not be able to
beat it!

(Doesn't hurt.... :-)

It's in a large white lab room. From the restart point for the
level--the glass tunnel--go straight to the end of the tunnel and
take a right, then take the first door on the left, then follow
the passage into a big room. Look to your left and you'll see the
white room, with a door on the far left (which may or may not be
unocked, depending on how much of the level you've finished). The
violator is in a glass container on the far end of this room, along
with two sets of violator ammo in two other glass containers...but
you'll need other game items to open the containers and get to them.
There's also a dark soul in the room (in one of those implantation
mechanisms).

BTW, there's an extra dark soul in Lavaducts (one more than the total
the game says are available there), if you're one short.

Awesome, thanks! You know, I also found an extra dark soul in the
wastelands when you climb up the third waterfall (in the area with
three waterfalls right after you enter the level), It was one I swear
that I'd gotten before, but when I got it my total went to 13 out of
12. I don't know if that was a glitch or what, but it sure helps!

Really? Yeesh. I didn't like the Wastelands enough to go back and
search the whole place again (your 13th might be a different one from
mine). And here I thought I'd gotten everything, except for a cheat
or two. Wonder if any other levels have extra dark souls also....

So how many dark souls do you actually have? I guess you only need
95 to finish the game...119 will only get you the extra violator
(and a glowing sense of accomplishment, of course ;-). I was a
little miffed when I found out that the "mystery" door just contained
a second violator...kind of like finding out that getting all skulltulas
in Zelda just give you unlimited rupees. Big deal. But then again,
having two violators made killing Legion easy (too easy, in fact).

It was actually 14 out of 13 on the Wastelands level, got it mixed
up. I just beat the game with 120 dark souls, but I was missing one
from the lava ducts, plus the extra you said you found in the
lavaducts, so I could've got a total of 122 if I could find those last
two bastards. About the only thing I didn't find was the flashlight,
one accumulator, and one cheat (play as deadsider, but I know where to
find it if I want it). The wireframe cheat had to be the best code
next to play as Bloodshot(thought he was alot cooler looking than
Shadowman), came in real handy for finding the last few dark souls.
The extra violator was a let down, but Legion is hard as HELL
without at least one! Plus you have to sit through that 5 minute
speach he gives right before you fight him, which is weird because it
lets you button through the other two speaches he gives. Anyway,
incredible game, I'd say probably the best game for 64 next to Golden
Eye. Hell, one of the best games ever!

There's a room with one of these big guys lying on a table and 3
Containers at the wall. You need 3 accumulators (from the serial-killer
levels) to get the violator and one accumulator for each ammunition-box.

One possible hint: there are TWO big lava/wheel rooms in Lavaducts.
They look identical, and they're connected by an underlava tunnel.
I was confused until I figured this part out...and the second wheel
room is where I found my extra dark soul. Pretty crafty of them.

Is that "Play as Duppie"? Looks like one of those wiry guys to me.
The only one I'm missing is between "Play as Dog" and "Play as Deadwing".

Hey...I didn't even notice that I'd gotten that code. Definitely
cooler. Personally, though, I can't resist playing as Dog. :-)

So THAT's what it's useful for. I just thought of it as a novelty.
Maybe I'll go scour Wastelands for that other dark soul now....

Yep, I'd say it's in my top 10 for N64. Other than a few graphic
glitches (more funny than harmful) and overwrought voice acting, it
was basically a perfect execution of a game concept.
