Is their a version of any of the gauntlets from the old arcade game. I was
wondering if they ever made one for the Super Nintendo or the PC. I know
there is one for the Nintendo but was wondering.

Well, you doubted wrong then. There's a PC port of Gauntlet I
in CGA (4 glorious colours!) and Gauntlet II (VGA this time). Quite
cool.

Too bad you don't have a Genesis. Tengen's Gauntlet IV for the Sega system
features an EXACT port of the original arcade game. It even allows four
people to play simultaneously with either of the two four-player adapters
that are available for the system! The best part, though, is the Quest mode
that allows players to build up characteristics and buy new weapons and
armour as they advance through 5 different castles. A must buy!

He's right.....Tengen's Gauntlet IV is the genuine pixel-perfect arcade
translation.

I don't own and don't want to buy any Sega systems (been a Nintendo man
myself) but I do like Gauntlet 2 for the 8-bit NES. Gauntlet (the first)
sucks really hard on NES, but Gauntlet 2 is surprisingly good for the old
system. It also accomodates 4 players with the 4-score. Of course, it's
not as good as the original or Genesis, but it's excellent and the sounds
are kick ass. If it wasn't for this game, I'd probably have to break
down and get a Genesis - but seeing as I get bored with Gauntlet anyway -
this one works. Plus, I'm so biased towards Nintendo that it's all the
more fun on an old NES!

James

(PS - Don't buy Gauntlet (the first) for NES because it S U C K S ! !)
