Everyone thinks that CT will be awesome because of Square's reputation. There's
never been a Square game that wasn't good (except FF Legend, IMHO).
Plus, you can get tons of pictures of the game on the web
as well as soundtracks. I personally already know that the graphics DON'T suck
and the game has received nothing but praise, except from people who felt it
was too short.
I can't speak for everyone but I'll bet that not many people think that CT is
going to be a crappy game.

Does it really suck? I was planning to buy it tomorrow....can anyone
give a decent and intelligent review of this game.....
I have played FF3 and I really liked it and after I beat
it once and Later I started to play it again but never bother
to finish. I still like FF3 but I already played it. In
fact I traded FF3 in to get Chrono Triger. Chrono Triger
is a new game and so far I really like it. I think it is
just as good if not better.

In a word: NO.
In *my* opinion, it is FAR better than FF3 with a cohesive and
less linear storyline, a fully animated combat engine (no more cardboard
cutout opponents! Yay!), characters that aren't cliches and fairly
personable to boot, and a rather lengthy quest (it's taken ME longer to
beat it than it took me to complete FF3). It's easily the best console
RPG to date, and, IMHO, it approaches such vaunted titans of RPGdom as
Ultima 4/5 and Wasteland.
FF3 was fun, but I found the cliched melodrama to be overly silly,
and the random encounters obnoxious. CT's characterizations, on the other
hand, AREN'T melodramatic stereotypes, but amusing variations on what
could ostensibly be called the realm of "anime characterizations." Also,
there are no "random fight encounters" per se - you can, for the most part,
walk around monsters without having to fight them, if you are especially sick
of fighting. It also makes overland exploration MUCH more appealing.
I would recommend it without hesitation. The new play techniques,
coupled with the reparation of many of my gripes about FF3, make it probably
the best game, IMHO, available on the SNES.
