Why would you want a FAQ or Walkthrough? Earthbound comes with a very
detailed walkthrough with great color photos. Have you found anything
which is missing from that walkthrough?

Well...I've been searching everywhere for that broken part tthat turns
into the Baddest Giga Beam (or whatever the hell Jeff's (the nerd) best
weapon is called). The guide says that it is the antennae but I've also
seen it called the parabolic so I don't know what to look for. It also
says that you find it in a treasure chest but that's bull!! I've gotten
(to my knowledge) every chest in the game! I was hoping a FAQ was out so I
can clear this up!

You can order an Earthbound manual/player's guide from Nintendo.
The price might be a bit steep, I forget exactly how much, but
it is a riot to read, full of funny pictures and such. The
reason the video stores might not have it is it falls apart
because of the cheap paper. My local Blockbuster had it though.
Maybe the reason a FAQ is hard to find is that no one wants to
go through the trouble since Nintendo's walkthrough isn't that
hard to find. Maybe the game will go down in price further and
you can just buy it from the store.
I am dying for a sound test for this game! I wish the jukebox
in the cafe wasn't just for looks. Most HAL games have a sound
test if you finish the game with everything, but this is
technically not a HAL game; rather a APE/NOJ game. Does anybody
know if a CD came out in Japan? ---Daryel
From what I understand there was a game called Mother
for the Famicom (NES in Japan) that Nintendo of America
translated for the NES, but decided not to release.
The sequel Mother 2 came out on the Super Famicom (SNES
in Japan) and Nintendo of America translated it for the
SNES and actually released it as Earthbound, which was
the title the NES game was to have. Mother 2 is
supposed to give the player a nostalgic feeling of the
original Mother, with its simple graphics and occasional
NES soundalike tune.
By the way the main man behind the Mother games is
Sigesato Itoi and he is a celebrity in Japan. Nintendo
Power had an interesting article about him in the
Earthbound debut issue (Weaponlord cover).

Beats me, but this is probably the raciest game from
Nintendo, not counting Killer Instinct. Several
religions are portrayed (Poo's is straight Zen Buddism
I think), plus a charistmatic cult leader who looks
Jewish and has a name that is a Jesus reference,
kidnapping, and so on. But I still think it's wholesome
entertainment. ---Daryel
