My friend who works at nintendo said that the Ultra 64 would be delayed
another month because of a couple bugs in the system.I will keep you
posted on further developments.

I care ... Because you do.

see it myself.

WEll I heard the Ultra 64 is all ready. they just have so many cool games
coming out for the SNES like Chrono Trigger and Secret of Evermore, Diddy
Kong's quest and a whole bunch more. It's obvious the 64 would shadow
their christmas sales. generally SNES and all gaming companies for that
matter make more money off the games than the main system. the Ultra 64
won't be out till after the holidays unfortunatly..sorry

Well, THE ABOVE is THE plain truth. The system is ready. Why the hell
would NINTENDO want to put out another system when the SNES's potential
has yet to be milked fully! The above listed games DESTROY anything that
Sega Saturn has to offer - BUG!....give me a break! The only system they
need fear (in terms of Market share) is our mighty PSX!!!! But even
then.....

They sight the fact that they want 20 (around that number) QUALITY games
finished and ready to accompany the NU64 before they can launch their
system.
****************BULLSHIT!!!*************************
When the hell have we ever seen a system release with more than 5
games??!!! It sure as hell won't change with the NU64!

From what I've heard the (rumored) delay is because Nintendo wants to give 3rd
party developers more time to work on their games...after all most 3rd party
developers just got their development kits a little while ago.

I'll just blow a crater in your theory. Why did they decide to create
all these spiffy new games for the SNES when the U64 was right on
schedule, huh? These games have been in work for at least a year or so
since Rare had not 1 but 2 to work on which include a complicated arcade
port. Why not make all of them for the U64? That would be two extra U64
games for launch. DKC2 and SMW2. Geez, it just so happens that they
have te hardware launch of the decade planned for like five years and
they go and screw it up by preparing the SNES's best inter lineup in like
a century. The delay was planned for quite a while now. Actually, maybe
it was planned from January or so this year, but they knew all the time
they were lying to us gamers. I can tolerate a lot, but not blatant
disrespect for their life blood.

Now I'll blow a crater in your reply. What is the installed user base of
the SNES and what is the installed base of the U64.

Look people, NIntendo will make /way/ more money on KI and Kong2, and they
dont want the Ultra 64 to over shadow it...if you say that that doesn't
make sense, because people would just buy games for the Ultras 64 instead,
and Nintendo would make the same amount of money, this is why you are
wrong: If people buy the Ultra64 in the coming months the target market
wouldn't have any money left after buying the 200$ system, for games. And
like I said before, games is where they make their money. Soooo, they will
let KI and Kong2 make them a ****load of money, and I mean a ****load, and
release the Ultra64 likely in June of 96' This was the latest release date
I heard, and they would be stupid, short of running a hugely inntesnse
advertising campaign, to release it earlier than they promised. A 'Release
date' makes the product seem more axciting, more viable, and in turn sell
better.

Anyways, that's my 2cents, personal email comments are welcome. Flames
will be laughed at. :)

**WRONG! It will come out BEFORE april'96! It will come out in December
1995. Where did i get this info? At IGOnline
(http://igonline.escape.com). :)

IGoline also reported this:

"Nintendo of Japan has confirmed that it will debut Ultra Famicom on
November 25 ~ 26 at Famicom Space World '95 (the Shoshinkai Show) at
Makuhari Messe outside Tokyo. The announcement proclaimed that 100
actual units will be on exhibit together with 10 playable titles. The
new system will be showcased at a 18,000 square foot booth of its own,
about one-eighth of the entire exhibit space. By filling out
questionnaires, visitors to the huge event will get the chance to win
one of 100 systems or 300 games on release."

Let's see, you wanted me to prove you wrong and here it is. You
wrote that you never said that it was coming out before April '96, how
can you say that you weren't lying when you just recently said the
complete opposite. The facts are right in front of you...

Sounds like it will still come out more or less on schedule.

The PlayStation was first released in the early spring in Japan.
Now, it's about to hit the U.S.

And on May 5, this same president of NoA didn't know if the Ultra 64 had 3
days before it would be first presented, or 6 months. The public
unveilling got pushed from the E3 (May 8) to the Japanese electronic toy
show (November 21) only days before the E3.
Also, the info that IGOnline gets is only an hour or two old when it gets
posted, but Next Generation probably has a 3 week lag time like the other
console mags do.

Thats not really true. If I remember right, Nintendo never said it
would be shown at E3. Its just that everyone assumed that it would be,
and with the announcement about the delay came, it was obvios it
wouldnt be shown. But I do think that Howard Lincoln didnt know about
the delay until about 3 days before E3 though. :) Because I think it
was Hiroshi Yamouchi(sp?) decesion because he didnt want the UFC to be
release outside of Japan until there were some Japanese titles to go
with it.
