It's in the FAQ. Between the first two levels, you should see a path that
bends at one point. You must press B at the *millisecond* you change
directions. Mashing on B won't work. You don't have to get it the first
time. It usually takes about 20 tries for me. It helps to be by yourself
(i.e. Donkey should have Diddy following him and vice versa). When you
get it right, the screen will fade to black and you'll end up a little
bit before the midway point in Orangutang Gang. Not even Funky's Flights
can take you back to World 1 if you do this.
It takes a bit of practice. There is no warp effect like SNES's SMB2.
You're just there.

Some months ago, someone suggested to finish the game in less than 1 hour with
only one life (of course, 101%), because maybe there's an special ending or
something...
Other person posted an article saying he had finished in less than 1 hour and
with one life, but no 101%. Then Cranky didn't said the usual phrase, but he
recommended to finish the ENTIRE game.
I'm trying to do all, going thru as fast as I can, and finishing everything.
Of course, you can't die anywhere, but the strategy I'm using is to reach
quickly a saving point and then go back to finish incomplete levels.
I must say that is VERY VERY difficult (I've had to restart all again more
than once!) because of the time (60%-70%, 50 minutes,...no way!). I'm on the
good way, but I haven't done it yet.
Has someone done it?? Is it worth or I'm wasting my time????

you're just wasting your time. there is no difference in endings. i think
i managed to finish 101% in about 52 min and i was very disappointed that there
wasn't a special ending or maybe even the original DK. oh well. but don't
let that stop you from playing. it's still a hell of a game.
