I'm happy to say that the Virtual Boy has FINALLY arrived, it's out
in BlockBusters everywhere. The system isn't out for sale yet or rent,
that will happen on Aug 21, but for now, you can go to a BlockBuster
store and they have it up for you to try. I went today (they just got
it today), It's awesome. I played Mario's Dream Tennis, it was cool,
it REALLY looks 3D! The controllers aren't that big, they were VERY
comfortable and there were buttons everywhere! The Tennis game is
pretty generic, but it's really fun. I can't wait to rent it, Telero
Boxer and Red Alarm seem to be the *hot* picks. Mario Clash should be
VERY impressive, but it won't be out until October.
What really astounds me is the possibilities this system posses. We're
talking *true* 3D gaming here. The system is powered by 32-Bit RISC
processor, which should provide us with fast, smooth, 3D animation.
RARE has announced TWO titles. Maybe DKC and KI? Namco has also
announced plans for Virtual Boy titles. So has Konami, Capcom, Square,
Enix, and Ocean. So as you can see, we should be getting some really
hot games soon. Castlevania, Contra, Mega Man, Final Fantasy, Chrono
Trigger (has anyone noticed that in the box art, it says *first*
installment?), are all possibilities. You have to check it for
yourself, don't listen to what others say (most of them haven't even
tried it). Remember, Go To BlockBuster Today!
