With Gensokyo being the place for forgotten things and text USENET
pretty much being forgotten by many people (even in Japan it seems),
don't you think the people of Gensokyo (especially the kappa) could be
using it in the future? Maybe even right now as we talk?

Imagine if ZUN somehow stumbles upon USENET and makes his next Touhou
game about it...

P.S. Ugh why won't you appear in my netnews client already, is 3
crossposted newsgroups small enough for you

FINALLY! I guess it wasn't the number of newsgroups crossposted...

Note to self: Don't post to news.newusers.questions

Wait how did it become newusers, it should've been news.groups.questions

Agh, I have PEBCAK!

I think the first question that should come in mind is, what client
would they use lol

Deltarune's second chapter is kinda one I've heard. Even had a character
for the spam itself lol

Well, that's assuming the clients themselves would be forgotten enough
too to get into Gensokyo... Thunderbird is far from forgotten (though
perhaps the Usenet function is? But then I see plenty of people here
using Thunderbird, even Takane here uses it), and I think people still
use slrn.

Now that I think about it, it probably doesn't make sense for Usenet to
come to Gensokyo without a client to use.

Did I just shoot my own thread's foot? :P

check out.

Google Groups is still being used by spammers, so no :PP

> Might still have a leg to stand on :)

Perhaps. :)

If we ignore how our 2hus will get those clients, then I guess Nitori
would be using slrn? She's the techy type so obviously she would prefer
the simple text interface. :D

Reimu would be using Thunderbird because she couldn't bother herself
with being a ricer and just want something that works. :P

Marisa and Takane would definitely be the ones who would use a client
that is designed for downloading binaries! Gotta smuggle those warez >:)

And Yukari would be using A News or B News (wait those seem to be
forgotten enough) because she's a fossil. XD

Ahh lol. Violet Detector seems closest since we see Sumireko there
posting her selfies to social media and getting likes

Well it could be possible that a paper copy of the RFC of the Usenet
protocol NNTP (or even UUCP!) get to Gensokyo, and then somebody writes
a client for it (N News anyone? With the N standing for Nitori ofc ;))
