Messages regarding CGE are being improperly cancelled by someone
operating from an account at worldnet.att.net. IF YOU POSTED
RECENTLY ABOUT CGE YOUR MESSAGE WAS PROBABLY ILLEGALLY
CANCELLED.

My attorney will be contacting AT&T Worldnet to obtain the information
required to bring action against this person and/or the organization they
represent.

Steven,

The cancelled posts were done by me, cve...@worldnet.att.net to try to calm things down
and get all this negativity to end, also I've noticed anything positive I wrote was deleted so
I figured this was going nowhere, so if I've offended you then I am here to admit to what I
did.

Please don't do that. Cancels have only a few, well-defined legitimate uses,
and those are spam cleanup under BI>20, misplaced binaries, TOS cancels and
cancels by or on behalf of the actual poster. Flame wars, as well as off-topic
and negative postings, may be unpleasant and may even be totally useless, but
they must never be cancelled. After all, OT and "useless" are very much in
the eye of the beholder.

Rogue cancels not only cause a lot of hurt feelings, but also hurt the
acceptance of the legitimate cancels that help to keep your favourite
newsgroup clean.

I can't believe Curt would do this and not understand how fundamentally
offensive it is to the very fabric of not only this group, but also to the
principles of the Net itself. I think it's time to make a concerted effort to
make sure that Mr. Vendel no longer holds himself out as a museum curator or as
a friend of this collector's community. I think we should collect his postings
and other ramblings and pass them along to Mr. Bushnell as well as any other
former Atari employees he has manipulated over the years to build his
collection. He is definately not someone who is going to preserve this legacy
and doesn't deserve all the trust and support he has received over the years.

Forging cancels in a debate *always* makes things worse. It's also
grounds on most respectable ISPs for getting your account yanked.

I can believe it... The reasons Vendel stated for defending his recent
actions are truly laughable, if not pathetic. ("The cancelled posts were
done...to try to calm things down and get all this negativity to end").
Hmm, like anyone would honestly believe this b.s. No. I see it as an
aggressive (and possibly illegal) action to save face, and his "museum".
His negative-CGExpo pseudonym postings speak for themselves, and as for Mr.
Bushnell's cancellation....well, we all know who to thank for that one.
His involvment (whether direct or indirect) is quite obvious now. Perhaps
he didn't want to play "runner up" to Atari Gaming Headquarters? Maybe
he's upset that he didn't have the foresight to organize his own show?
Simple case of jealousy?

Whatever.

Regardless if Bushnell attends or not, I will, because it's simply a
"once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity to finally meet a few of the folks
responsible for those countless hours of my misspent youth, not to mention
some *truly* great people in this hobby. It's going to be a great
show....in spite of Vendel's efforts to derail it.
