First, apologies for the "spam". It's not my intention to offend
anyone by invading their discussion group with useless SPAM. I'm
just looking for writers and haven't much elsewhere to look.

I run Old Skool Games, a "retro gaming" Magazine distributed in PDF
format. The project has been around for several years now, but in
the past 2 to 3 it has really fallen into a slump with nothing
published. The main reason is I just can't find any interested or
reliable content writers. I used to do most of the work myself but
I suffered major burn out as a result. I guess it goes without
saying OSG is a labor of love, and I keep it up simply for that, and
not because I make even a penny off it. So it also goes without
saying I couldn't afford to pay you even if I wanted to.

I would like to appeal to anyone who has ever flipped through a
gaming magazine and thought "hey, I could do this", in regards to
writing about games. If you have a passion for old games and have
plenty of thoughts to write down about them, then I would love to
hear from you. OSG is also not limited to just games reviews. In
the past I have had Editorials and Interviews and I would love to
keep including those sorts of things, as well as branch out into
more topics such as general Articles on interesting subjects, or
do-it-yourself type guides to gaming related hardware or activities.
Hopefully you all get the idea.

OSG is aimed at documenting the North America USA gaming market,
although I'm currently in talks with someone to try and get an
"Imports" sections going primarily for games only released in Japan.
But outside of that, I tend to want to focus on USA released
products (if they were released in other areas that's great and it
can be mentioned for comparisson, etc). Above all I put a high
value on good writing and english skills. OSG may not be a
professional outfit but that doesn't mean we can't strive to look
and act like one.

Requirements are currently not very tough in terms of content
obligations. Also I am not the perfect Eidtor, and in that vein I am
also willing to work with those who may not be the best writers, but
are looking for an enjoyable way to improve their skills. You must
be able to handle constructive feedback and changes made to your
work.

We officially cover a variety of computer and console systems,
although its hard to make an exact list. But generally OSG does not
cover 3D games of any type, with a few rare exceptions such as the
earliest of 3D "Perspective" type stuff.. Sufficient to say
something like DOOM is OK whereas something truly 3D requiring
dedicated hardware is not. The cutoff point for consoles is Sega
Saturn (mainly for its RPGs).

If anyone is interested in writing about the old games they love,
and can be fairly unbiased, and has no qualms about working with
Emulators (I *will not* supply ROMS) for screenshot purposes, if not
review purposes, then please feel free to visit the site and send
an e-mail via the contact page.
