Back in 1982 or 1983 I met a gentleman who claimed to be the world champion
Ms Pacman playere at this time - a score of over 900,000 - in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida. I saw him get 650,000. I learned a lot from him before I
moved back to Canada - my top score is 335,000. Is there anyone out there who
will trade hints with me to improve my score? Anyone want what info I do
have?

I wonder if that 650,000 is on a standard machine. My high score
on the standard arcade ms pac-man is around 365,000(if i remember
correctly, it was a long time ago).
At this point the ghosts
are very fast and of course the pellets don't change the ghosts
to blue. So because of this and the fact that there are no
patterns, i cant see anyone getting 650,000 much less 900,000.

There is a trick on the 3rd screen. When you go through the tunnel and
there is a ghost following you, go down cause the ghosts never
go down after going through the tunnel.

If you want to see a 900,000+ score, a Perfect Game (ie every possible point)
until the termination of the program, you have to see a man by the name of
Bill Bastable, who now lives in Sarasota, Florida. He has been on the TV news
there, particularly a 915,180 televised on WWSB channel 40 news on March 26,
1991. He has had games scored slightly higher not done for TV, and a 966,760
on a Turbo Ms. PM. He also was one of the first to get a perfect game of
Pac-Man and has a Pacmania score of over 77 million. If you happen to call
someone at Monmouth University (NJ) who was there in the early 80s and ask
them about "Pac-Man Bill I'm sure they'll know exactly who you're talking
about. E-mail me at "buddygreen@msn,com" if you want more info!

The man you probably saw was Chris Ayres, who was listed in some magazines at
the time as the high scorer. However he recently went to Sarasota, FL, home of
the true World Champion Bill Bastable and found out who the King really is.
Bill was on Channel 40 WWSB News on March 26, 1991 for a perfect game of Ms
with a score of 915,180 (and has scored more without the cameras rolling).

If you had watched the Channel 40 Sarasota Fl news on March 26, 1991 you
would've seen World Champion Bill Bastable score 915,180 on a normal non-
speeded program (not to mention a Perfect Game through to the program
termination). He has also scored higher without TV cameras present, and has
probably the first perfect game at Pac-Man and a high score of over 77 million
at Pacmania. If you want more info email me at "buddy...@msn.com"!

Coincidentally, I was having a conversation with Robert Birmingham at
Atari Games just the day before yesterday. He was telling me about
this same individual, and Robert is also from Florida. So I think
this guy is for real. I told Robert we need a mspacman for work.
He said "Mame." I think that would be good. Also, I've got a "Rush"
development cabinet whose network name is mspac. Let's hear more
about mspac.

(subliminal message: Atari Games is hiring)
