It's been a long, long time since I've done this, but I'm ready at last
for another newsgroup/email auction. I've got a ton of stuff to unload and
I've got the initial bids fairly reasonable (I hope!), so please bid early
and often. :^) You might just get a steal!
Highlights:
Swordquest: Waterworld
Top-loader NES with controllers, power, etc
Nice Commodore hardware and books
Saturn NetLink with CD
List of all systems: 2600, 5200, 7800, Lynx, Jaguar, NES, Commodore,
Sega Saturn
The rules for this auction are explained in detail at the end of this
post. The short version is:
- this mimics a real-life auction, not an eBay style auction
- send your bids to j...@linuxgames.com
- you'll receive email updates nightly
- check bids in real time at http://curmudgeongamer.com/jvm/auction.txt
- shipping not included in bids
- international bidders should make arrangements before bidding
- I am entertaining modestly large value trades.
Now, here's the list of swag, which is all you really care about.

RULES
=====
Since these kinds of auctions are pretty uncommon now, I'll explain the
rules as briefly as I can. These will be amended as needed when questions
arise.
0) THIS IS NOT EBAY. This is like a REAL LIFE DYNAMIC AUCTION where you
bid just enough to outbid the competition. You can bid as high as
you like, but I will only record and remember the lowest value that
makes you the highest bidder. After a 14 days of open bidding, the
auction will move to ONCE, TWICE, SOLD format (an item progressing one
level each day).
1) If you bid and you win, then you must buy. Bad bidders will have
their information posted to appropriate newsgroups. Public ridicule
will follow. ;^)
2) You email your bids to me at j...@linuxgames.com
3) If you have questions about an item, then please ask. I can take
digital photos of an item, upon request. Everything listed is a
used item, some more used than others. I've tried to test everything
to make sure that each item works as expected. All cartridges
and games have labels, although some look worn.
4) With your first bid(s), send me the alias you'd like used in the
official auction price listing.
5) Updates mailed nightly. You may request to be on the list without
bidding.
6) Updates posted to the newsgroup every few days.
7) Shipping is not included in the bid price, but will be computed
afterward.
8) International bidders should contact me to make payment/shipping
arrangements BEFORE sending bids.
9) Bid increments are as follows:
$0.00 -- $9.75: You may bid in $0.25 increments. $10.00 -- $19.50: You
may bid in $0.50 increments. $20.00 -- $99.00: You may bid in $1.00
increments. $100.00 -- infinity: You may bid in $2.00 increments
10) You can always check the official auction listing at:
http://curmudgeongamer.com/jvm/auction.txt
11) I will entertain buy-out offers or trades, but only for items of
significant value. That is, I'm not interested in trading your Pac-man
cartridge for my Tennis cartridge. Now, the NES for a Vectrex or a
sweet SNES package...well, email me. ;^)
http://curmudgeongamer.com/jvm/auction.txt
for list of items if the list below looks bad in your newsreader. Thanks.
