Trying to locate the correct yellow paint code for a midway pac-man
cabinet.
Done the search of the group and found many ideas and color
suggestions, but not a firm "this is the one to use".
I can hit the major paint places, kelly-moore, sherwin williams, home
depot, lowes, and gather samples and try to match the few spots that
have not been painted over. Hoping to take the top layer of paint off
to reveal the graphics underneath and touch up.
What about stencils for the graphics?
Last thing I saw was all the copyright stuff with namco and no one was
sellling due to that.
Two bit sells the decals, but I would like the original look of paint.
Any used stencils out there? Just a thought.
Rob.

I did a search a while ago, here is some of what I found.

I finally decided on using Safety Yellow since many places did
recommend it. I actually bought Rustoleum's Safety Yellow because it
was virtually identical in color and was half the price before the
additional 50percent off I was given for the can being dented.

Because I was painting the whole cabinet I didn't need to match small
places and the color looks great to me.

Here are the color codes

But Oleszak Creative says not to use Safety Yellow

Sherwin-Williams. It is just Industrial Enamel safety yellow with some
green and black added to "dirty" the color.

Safety yellow is way off.. closer to that wacky yellow that twobits
prints than the actual paint. I've never tried to match it myself
yet, but that would be my approach. Take a piece of wood from behind
the marquee or some other place that caught paint that you don't see
to a good paint matcher.

As for paint that does match, Krylon's sunburst yellow in the spray
can is damn near perfect but it's a spray can. You could probably
find that and use it to get a match.

Continuing stripping old paint off the pac-man cabinet. Original
artwork is still there. Like to shoot the idiot who painted over it.
They even took off the t-mould and filled in the groove and painted
that!
After I am done removing the paint, dont know if it will be worth
touching up, or If I should trace the artwork and make my own stencils
and re-paint it.
Since no one has stencils anymore, what material should I use? Going
to do more research, but thought I would check here first.
Thanks, Rob.
